'Awakening Wonder in our Everyday' - a Contemplative Photography Retreat for Women
Reconnecting with Wonder, Nature and Creativity, Ruth Joy will guide and support you through a series of heart-led creative practices including Contemplative Photography and Earth Art. Ruth is an experienced photographer, art teacher, workshop facilitator and space holder.
Bring a camera or camera phone if you have one. No photography experience or belief in your own creative ability necessary.

This weekend is designed to help you find your centre, which is different for all of us. Through the process of mindfulness, singing, walking, and conversation, Mike and Shaun will enable us to find an anchor, an inner spacious place and hopefully a sense of community and connection. Come and join our men’s weekend with a difference.
Please note that there will be some singing during the weekend but it's nothing to worry about! No previous experience is necessary and you don't need to read music, just a willingness to join in and have fun.

'Sacred Darkness' - an Advent Retreat
Led by Helen Warwick and Revd Sibylle Batten
At the start of the Advent season we will open to Wisdom and her way of finding treasure in darkness. This will be a relaxing retreat with input of poems, prayers, creative space, and information on sacred darkness based on Helen’s book ‘Wisdom Calls’. We will be using the facilities of Holy Rood including the garden to enjoy the stars and the moon.

On this creative day we will be exploring ideas around angels, and their appearance in the Advent stories, including dreams. We will have opportunity to encourage our own imaginative ways that can help our exploring of both angels and our dreaming life. The day will include creative ideas, prayers and plenty of space for our own reflections.

Join us at Thirsk Town Hall and raise funds for Holy Rood House with a show for LEGO fans of all ages featuring impressive brick creations, hands-on play tables, and market stalls to buy LEGO sets and accessories. Delicious homemade cakes and light refreshments for sale, with all proceeds going to Holy Rood House. Join us for a fun day out!
